About Danielle

Hello and welcome! I’m Danielle Catherine, a Boston-based author, illustrator, and animator. I draw inspiration from animation, cartooning, and aesthetics from the 80’s and 90’s with a sense of vibrant nostalgia, joy, and welcoming cheer. My illustrations and animations are also heavily influenced by classic Western animation of the Golden Age to television animation of the late 1950s and 60’s as well as old school and modern Manga and Anime.
Another source I derive inspiration from is classical music, jazz fusion, smooth jazz, classic rock and synthwave. While having a cup of coffee, I’m always scribbling my next ideas or studying new creative techniques to continue honing my craft. When it comes to storytelling of any sort, I have a basic motto I abide by each time I create something: Make it as flavorful as a sip of coffee and give it that fine touch of jazz.
I published my first book, Cardelina: A Story of Joy, Hope, and Love in 2022, which can be found on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. (More information is on the publisher’s website, En Route) and I am currently working on my next book.
